Contacts not Syncing Properly

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 6 Plus. iOS is 9.3.5

I have a Mac Book Pro running El Capitan 10.11.6

My contacts are not syncing 100% and I have tried many things but it is still not resolved.

My phone seems to have most of the contacts which were on it before I changed to the 6 plus but there are still a few which will not come across from the Mac. Any ideas about how to resolve this?

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 9.3.5

You can try this instruction to make sure you do everything right iTunes 11 for Mac: Sync contacts, calendars, and other info with iPod, iPhone, or iPad

Thanks for the quick response. I followed this word for word and it still leaves a few of my contacts on my Mac. I ticked, unticked all the correct boxes but it still doesn't work.
